This labour, which includes all domestic activities, is identified with a so-called excessive moral value, which is financially ’unpaid’ under the guidance of the patriarchy and is passed over under the guise of emotional satisfaction. The purpose of this research is to question the perception and the approaches of the labour practices of women who are actively involved in working life today and who also perform unrequited home labour. In this regard, the comments of working women including their experiences, opinions and criticisms about housework are analysed firstly in terms of content, and then by means of critical discourse analysis in terms of meanings and implications beyond the content in the study. In the research, it is accepted as an assumption that the women cannot escape from the understanding that “home labour is the duty of women”, which is formed as an imposition of the patriarchal system, even if they continue working overtime in the public sphere within the same hours.</p>}, number={1}, journal={Kadın/Woman 2000, Journal for Women’s Studies}, author={Yüceşahin, M.
