Abstract

Dear Colleagues, Distinguished Researchers,

It is with great pride and excitement that we present the inaugural issue of the EMU Journal of Health Sciences, published under the auspices of Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Health Sciences. Our journal embarks on its publication journey with the aim of creating a scientific platform that brings together diverse disciplines within the health sciences, supports the production of knowledge, strengthens academic collaboration, and contributes to scientific advancement at both national and international levels.

Health sciences represent a dynamic and continuously evolving field that requires interdisciplinary collaboration and directly impacts human life and well-being. In this context, supporting scientific research, increasing the visibility of high-quality academic work, and encouraging young researchers are of utmost importance. The primary mission of our journal is to disseminate original studies conducted in various areas of health sciences — including physiotherapy and rehabilitation, nursing, nutrition and dietetics, exercise and sports sciences, and related disciplines — while fostering scientific communication and academic interaction across borders.

The publication of our first issue marks not only the beginning of a new academic journal, but also a significant milestone reflecting the scientific vision, academic productivity, and quality-oriented approach of our faculty. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our Editor, Dr. Mitat Koz; our Associate Editors, Dr. Ceren Gezer and Dr. Gülten Sucu Dağ; our esteemed editorial board members from various disciplines, our reviewers, and all contributing authors for their invaluable efforts and dedication throughout this process. The commitment and collaboration of each academic contributor have laid the foundation of this scientific platform.

I firmly believe that, guided by scientific integrity, ethical values, innovation, and a spirit of collaboration, our journal will make meaningful and lasting contributions to the field of health sciences. As an open-access and peer-reviewed journal, the EMU Journal of Health Sciences aspires to become a respected and internationally recognized academic publication with strong scientific visibility in the years ahead.

I sincerely hope that this inaugural issue will be beneficial to the scientific community and that our journal will serve as an inspiring, productive, and prestigious academic platform for researchers worldwide.
