This study tries to explore a deeper understanding of the facts of women workers. The qualitative approach makes it possible to examine directly the individual experiences of women. By adopting a life story, which provides a connection with the past, this study aims to understand the meaning of work for a woman. With this aim, the life story of Z.S. who works as a kitchen staff is interviewed in the study. By examining the individual experience in depth through a life story, this study shows that the meaning of work for a woman is not just gaining a living but also includes how a woman perceives gender beliefs and how the specific events of the past have been reflected in her working life.
